EA and Battlefield Studios have announced the biggest seasonal update yet for Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC. Phase 1: Pacific Front (July 21)

The season kicks off with Tsuru Reef, the largest map ever in Battlefield 6. This Pacific island brings together land, sea, and air combat in one location, featuring cliffs, small islets, a luxury resort, and an old war bunker – plus aircraft carriers. The new Dynamic Wave System affects vehicle movement, firing lines, and visibility on the map. New boats like the 7.7M NSW RHIB and RCB-90 are also being added. On the REDSEC side, Ranked REDSEC returns with new cosmetics and an updated ranking system, while the Vehicle Key Card feature is being removed.

Phase 2: Top Gun Collaboration (August 18)

The highlight of the season is a Top Gun collaboration developed in partnership with Paramount Games Studio. Iconic F-18/Super Hornet and F-14 Tomcat fighter jets join the game, and the classic Wake Island map makes a comeback. Three film characters, voiced by their original actors, are entering the game: Miles Teller (Lieutenant Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw), Lewis Pullman (Lieutenant Robert "Bob" Floyd), and Charles Parnell (Admiral Solomon "Warlock" Bates). This phase also introduces two new modes: Carrier Strike, where players battle across land, sea, and air to capture objectives and attack the enemy aircraft carrier; and Top Gun: Fighter Sweg, a Gauntlet mission set on the redesigned Tsuru Reef map in REDSEC, played exclusively with fighter jets. Highly requested features like private lobbies and a pre-lobby screen for team/squad setup in Portal are also being added for a better gameplay experience.
