Capcom has released Title Update 4 (Version 1.040), the fourth major content update for Monster Hunter Wilds. This patch, described by the developers as including "over 100 core improvements," brings new monsters, key gameplay changes, and crucial performance optimizations especially for PC players!

I. New Monsters & Quests

TU4 introduces some of the game’s toughest challenges and adds two legendary monsters:

• Gogmazios Added: Gogmazios is now available for players who reach Hunter Rank (HR) 100+. To unlock this monster, players must complete an extra quest.

• Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad: Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad will be accessible through an upcoming Event Quest.

• New Tempered Monsters: Additional 9★ tempered monsters like Doshaguma will be available as event quests.

• New Extra Quests: New extra quests such as "An Ancient Resting Place" and "Ghosts Pay No Heed to Tomorrow" are unlocked through story progression.

II. Performance & Gameplay Quality Improvements

Capcom highlighted that this update focuses on technical performance.

• CPU/GPU Optimization: CPU and GPU optimizations have been applied across all hardware, improving frame pacing, collision detection, and the number of simultaneous effects.

• 100+ Improvements: Over 100 performance enhancements have been implemented for players, monsters, Seikret, Palicos, and the GUI.

• Quest Duration: Minimum quest duration has been increased for missions with two or more objectives, resulting in generally longer quest times.

• New Support Hunters: After completing the main quest "A Hunter's Pride," new Support Hunters can join quests: Griffin (Great Sword), Nightmist (Light Bowgun), and Nadia (a limited-time seasonal event character).

Almost every weapon in hunters’ arsenals has received significant damage boosts and quality-of-life fixes:

• Festival of Accord: The new Festival of Accord event runs from December 19, 2025 to January 14, 2026. During this time, Handler outfits, Hub decorations, and Canteen menus will be temporarily updated.

• Artian Weapons: Upgrade and enhancement options for Gogma Artian Weapons are now available at the Smithy.

• Armor Upgrades: The Smithy now offers "Transcendent" armor upgrades.
