The XM4-Burst is no longer as deadly as before. So, which weapon will define the new meta?
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone fans have finally received the much-anticipated balancing update! Raven Software and Treyarch have just released a new patch that shakes up the multiplayer mode and the Battle Royale arena, targeting the notorious “overpowered” weapon.
The latest update, released on February 26, 2026, delivers a major nerf to the XM4-Burst (the current meta rifle) that has dominated the Battle Royale (BR) mode. According to the developers, the goal is to “increase weapon variety and make time-to-kill (TTK) more balanced for everyone.”
Here are the changes made to this weapon that could melt enemies in seconds from long range:
Damage Reduction: Minimum damage at medium and long range has been reduced by 15 percent.
Recoil: Increased vertical recoil between bursts, making it harder to keep bullets on target.
Headshot Multiplier: Headshot multiplier has been lowered from 1.4x to 1.2x.
With the XM4 dethroned, these weapons are set to take the spotlight:
C9 (SMG): Improved movement speed and bullet velocity at close range.
SVD (Sniper): Faster ADS speed for more aggressive sniping.
| Feature | Update Details |
| Armor Plates | Armor plate equip animation speed increased by 10 percent. |
| Buy Stations | UAV prices increased from $6,000 to $8,000. |
| Black Ops 7 Maps | Some spawn points on the "Nuketown '26" map have been fixed. |
