Relics of Hyrule: 40th Anniversary Special Toy Collection
Instead of launching a new game or a major remastered bundle, Nintendo has unveiled the Classic Weapons toy series as a heartfelt nod to the franchise’s roots. This collection features high-quality toy versions of the most iconic weapons we’ve used since the original 1986 release.
What’s in the Collection?
-
The Master Sword (Pixel Edition): Inspired by the 8-bit look from the original NES game, this sword lights up and plays the legendary "Secret Discovery" sound when unsheathed.
-
Hylian Shield (Foam & Plastic): Lightweight yet impressively detailed. The adjustable straps on the back fit heroes of all ages.
-
Classic Boomerang: Modeled after its original 1986 design, this soft-textured yet durable boomerang is ready for adventure. (No guarantees it will return!)
-
Ocarina of Time (Functional Toy): A mini instrument that plays legendary tunes like "Zelda’s Lullaby" and "Epona’s Song" when you press the keys.
Pricing and Availability
Nintendo is winning over fans by keeping these products "affordable for everyone":
| Product Name | Estimated Price | Material |
| 8-Bit Master Sword | $24.99 | Hard Plastic / LED |
| Classic Boomerang | $12.99 | Durable Foam |
| Hylian Shield Jr. | $19.99 | Lightweight Plastic |

What Else Happened for the 40th Anniversary?
While there wasn’t a major game announcement, Nintendo quietly rolled out a few surprises:
-
Nintendo Switch Online: Special 40th anniversary icons have been added to the NES, SNES, and Game Boy libraries.
-
My Nintendo Rewards: A limited edition "The Legend of Zelda" poster set is now available for Platinum Points.
