Assassin's Creed Valhalla Gets New Game+ Six Years Later

Ubisoft is bringing New Game+ to Assassin's Creed Valhalla on November 5. It's been six years since the game launched, so this update is definitely overdue, but it's finally happening.
A surprise after six years
The announcement came during Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Fall 2026 update. Valhalla originally released in November 2020. Ubisoft says this update celebrates the game surpassing 40 million players.
Series director Jean Guesdon called the mode "(very, very, very) long-awaited." And he's right. Players have been asking for this for years.
What's coming with New Game+?
This mode lets you restart Eivor's journey from the beginning, but most of your progress carries over. To keep things challenging, enemies are also upgraded specifically for NG+.
Here’s what’s new in the update:
- An optional progression mode where Eivor’s total power includes all your gear, runes, and masteries
- New runes, achievements, and a stash system
- A new resource: Mithril for upgrading Divine Gear and empowering runes
- A new Divine Gear quality tier for all items
- A Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe from Assassin's Creed Shadows
Valhalla is already a huge game, so a second playthrough might seem daunting. But the new gear tier and Mithril are great reasons to revisit your old save.
Platforms and patch notes
Ubisoft will share details on supported platforms and patch notes in the coming days. There’s also a separate announcement for current-gen consoles on the way. It hasn’t been confirmed yet whether the update will be free or paid.

- No new remakes: Ubisoft says there are no active remakes in development except Black Flag Resynced.
- Black Flag Resynced: The final major content update is out. Only minor tweaks will follow.
