XM4-Burst is no longer the king of the battlefield. So, which weapon will define the new meta?
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone have finally received the much-anticipated balancing update! Raven Software and Treyarch have released a new patch that shakes up both multiplayer and Battle Royale modes, targeting that “overpowered” weapon everyone’s been talking about.
The latest update, released on February 26, 2026, brings a significant nerf to the XM4-Burst (currently the top meta rifle), which had become a nightmare for players in Battle Royale (BR) mode. According to the developers, this change aims to “increase weapon diversity and make time-to-kill (TTK) more balanced.”
Here are the changes made to this weapon, which could melt opponents from a distance in Warzone:
Damage Reduction: Minimum damage at medium and long range has been reduced by 15%.
Recoil: Vertical recoil between bursts has been increased, making it harder for bullets to stay on target.
Headshot Multiplier: The headshot multiplier has been lowered from 1.4x to 1.2x.
With the XM4 knocked off its throne, these weapons are set to rise in popularity:
C9 (SMG): Movement speed and bullet velocity at close range have been improved.
SVD (Sniper): ADS speed has been enhanced for more aggressive sniping.
