Hyrule Relics: 40th Anniversary Special Toy Collection
Instead of a new game or a big remastered bundle, Nintendo has introduced the Classic Weapons toy series, paying tribute to the roots of the franchise. This collection features high-quality toy versions of the most iconic weapons we’ve used since the original 1986 game.
What’s in the Collection?
-
The Master Sword (Pixel Edition): Inspired by its 8-bit look from the original NES game, this Master Sword features sound effects and lights. When unsheathed, it plays the iconic Secret Discovery sound.
-
Hylian Shield (Foam & Plastic): Lightweight yet highly detailed. The adjustable straps on the back fit heroes of all ages.
-
Classic Boomerang: Designed just like in the original 1986 game, this boomerang has a soft texture but is built to last. (We can’t promise it’ll come back every time!)
-
Ocarina of Time (Functional Toy): This mini instrument plays legendary tunes like Zelda’s Lullaby and Epona’s Song when you press the buttons.
Pricing and Availability
Nintendo aims to win over fans by keeping these items at a price point that’s accessible for everyone:
| Product Name | Estimated Price | Material |
| 8-Bit Master Sword | $24.99 | Hard Plastic / LED |
| Classic Boomerang | $12.99 | Durable Foam |
| Hylian Shield Jr. | $19.99 | Lightweight Plastic |
| Collector's Set (Full Package) | $49.99 | Special 40th Anniversary Box |
What Else Happened for the 40th Anniversary?
While there wasn’t a major game announcement, Nintendo quietly rolled out a few surprises:
-
Nintendo Switch Online: Special 40th anniversary icons have been added to the NES, SNES, and Game Boy libraries.
-
My Nintendo Rewards: A limited edition The Legend of Zelda poster set is now available for Platinum Points.
