S-Game has released patch 1.0302256 for Phantom Blade Zero. Discover new audio settings, faster shader compilation on PC, and changes to the Hua boss fight.
Phantom Blade Zero has just received a new update with version 1.0302256. According to S-Game’s patch notes released on Steam on November 4, this update brings new audio settings, shorter startup times on PC, boss rebalancing, and a range of bug fixes.
The game launched on October 29, and this patch delivers a major update in a short time. There are two standout features:
These may seem minor, but they make a difference. Turning down hit sounds during long sessions is a real ear-saver.
The most notable balance change is for Hua, the Deadly Betrothed boss. S-Game has made her grab attacks occur less frequently, but only on Wayfarer and Pathbreaker difficulties. Other difficulty levels remain unchanged.
Some other bosses and enemies have also had their behaviors adjusted, along with certain environmental mechanisms. The patch notes don’t list every enemy affected.
The biggest improvement is for PC users. The shader compilation process has been overhauled, resulting in much faster startup times. Ray tracing shaders are no longer compiled by default at launch.
Here’s how it works depending on your settings:
| Your Setting | What Happens After the Patch? |
|---|---|
| Ray Tracing was off | Shaders will recompile once on first launch. This is quick. |
| Ray Tracing was on | No recompilation needed, you can play right away. |
| You enable Ray Tracing for the first time | Required shaders will compile the next time you launch the game. |
There are also two more fixes:
Performance has been improved in some areas. Weapon hit feedback feels better, certain sound effects and dialogue volume levels have been adjusted. Weapon and skill descriptions, as well as controller button icons, have been updated.
Bug fixes include:
S-Game warns that some third-party mods may not be compatible with this update. If you experience issues after patching, try disabling your mods first. If problems persist, report them via the official support page.
Phantom Blade Zero launched on October 29 for PC and PS5. Even before release, it topped Steam’s global sales charts. According to Alinea Analytics via GamingBolt, the game has easily surpassed one million sales, including Tencent and WeGame platforms.
If you want to play on PC, you can top up your funds with a Steam Wallet Code. For PS5 players, a PlayStation Store gift card is all you need.
The latest patch is version 1.0302256. S-Game published the notes on Steam on November 4, 2026.
If Ray Tracing is off, shaders will recompile once on first launch. This is a one-time process and only takes a short while.
Only on Wayfarer and Pathbreaker difficulties. On these two levels, Hua uses her grab attack less often.
If you use mods, disable them first. S-Game notes that some mods are not compatible with this version.
