Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced 1.0.8 brings New Game+, brutal Nightmare difficulty, and classic assassination animations. Here's what's new at a glance.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced receives its final major content update today. With version 1.0.8, players get access to New Game+, the new Nightmare difficulty, and the return of iconic assassination animations from the original 2013 game.
According to Ubisoft, Title Update 1.0.8 launches on October 27 at 3:00 PM CET. The update will be available simultaneously on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, including Steam, Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Store versions.
This is the last major content drop for the game, so don't expect any new modes or big expansions after this. Ubisoft will still continue to release minor bug fix updates.

New Game+ lets you restart Edward Kenway's journey from the beginning, but you keep your progress. The following items transfer to your new run:
Story progress, active quests, map discoveries, and forts are reset. There's a small condition: Jackdaw and hideout upgrades pause but can be unlocked again by progressing in the story. New Game+ can be played up to five times, with the difficulty increasing each round.
This is the toughest level yet, and you can activate it at any point in the story. According to GamesRadar, enemies deal 1.8x more damage. The protection that prevents one-shot deaths is disabled, so even a stray bullet can take you out at full health.
The good news: you can set Nightmare difficulty separately for combat, stealth, naval, and side activities. If you want, you can just make naval battles tougher.
The update also brings back some of the takedown animations from the original game. There are new variations for hidden blade, unarmed, single sword, and gunblade assassinations. These play out randomly and can't be manually selected. Why they were missing from the remake is a mystery, but better late than never.
On the rewards side, you'll find new outfits, trinkets, sails, crew customizations, and pet appearances. Six new hidden community chests have been added to the map, and they're harder to find than before. The update also includes a long list of bug fixes.
Black Flag Resynced, a remake of the 2013 pirate classic, launched on July 9, 2026. If you finished the game and shelved it, New Game+ is the perfect excuse to dive back in. And if you haven't picked it up yet, now it's at its most complete.
If you're playing on PC, you can instantly top up your funds with a Steam Wallet Code. On console, a PlayStation Store gift card or Xbox gift card will do the trick.
Ubisoft has not mentioned any extra charge. Version 1.0.8 is available as a title update for all owners of the game.
New Game+ is a mode that restarts the story. Nightmare difficulty, however, can be enabled at any time regardless of your progress.
No major content is planned. Ubisoft has only announced minor improvement updates will continue.
