Ubisoft brings back its iconic first game with the Definitive label. This edition includes all expansions, but how does it perform on next-gen consoles?
Ubisoft has quietly released The Division: Definitive Edition in digital stores. However, instead of a long-awaited "Remaster" or "Remake," this launch feels more like a "collection bundle" for fans of the series.
Here’s what’s included in this new edition, available as of February 3, 2026, and why it left many players disappointed:
Ubisoft has brought together all content under one roof for those who love the atmosphere of the original 2016 game. But the limited technical improvements have sparked debates on social media.
Base Game and All DLCs: Includes all expansion packs: Underground, Survival, and Last Stand.
Seasonal Cosmetics: All previously released outfit sets and weapon skins are unlocked from day one.
4K & 60 FPS: On consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X), the game now runs at native 4K resolution and a stable 60 FPS.
Faster Load Times: Thanks to next-gen SSD technology, loading into the streets of New York is much quicker.
Players expected much more from a "Definitive" edition:
Same Graphics Engine: No major improvements to textures or lighting (like Ray Tracing); only resolution has been increased.
No Cross-Play: Despite launching in 2026, there’s still no "Cross-Play" support between PC and console players.
Lack of Anti-Cheat Updates: PC players were hoping for an improved anti-cheat system, but no enhancements have been made in this edition.
Editor’s Note: If you already own the base game and DLCs, this bundle doesn’t bring any new gameplay mechanics. But if you’re exploring the snowy streets of New York for the first time, this is the most convenient way to access all content at once.
