Ubisoft brings back its legendary title with the Definitive Edition label. What does this all-in-one bundle offer, and how does it perform on next-gen consoles?
Ubisoft has quietly released The Division: Definitive Edition in stores. However, this launch feels more like a "collection bundle" than the "Remaster" or "Remake" fans have long awaited.
Here’s what’s included in this new edition, available from February 3, 2026, and why it left many players disappointed:
Ubisoft has gathered all content under one roof for those who love the atmosphere of the original 2016 release. But the limited technical improvements have sparked debate on social media.
Base Game & All DLCs: Includes all expansion packs: Underground, Survival, and Last Stand.
Seasonal Cosmetics: All previously released outfit sets and weapon skins are unlocked from day one.
4K Support & 60 FPS: On consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X), the game now runs at native 4K resolution and a stable 60 FPS.
Loading Times: Thanks to next-gen SSD technology, loading into the streets of New York is significantly faster.
Players expected much more from a "Definitive" edition:
Same Graphics Engine: No major upgrades for textures or lighting (no Ray Tracing); only the resolution has been increased.
No Cross-Play: Even though it’s releasing in 2026, cross-play between PC and consoles is still missing.
Lack of Anti-Cheat Updates: PC players were hoping for an improved anti-cheat system in the Definitive Edition, but there’s no sign of any updates here.
Editor’s Note: If you already own the original game and its DLCs, this bundle doesn’t bring any new gameplay mechanics. But if you’re stepping into snowy New York for the first time, this is the smartest way to get the full experience in one package.
