Ubisoft brings back its iconic title with the Definitive label. This edition includes all expansions so how does it perform on next-gen consoles?
Ubisoft has quietly released The Division: Definitive Edition in stores. However, instead of the long-awaited graphical "Remaster" or "Remake" that fans hoped for, this launch feels more like a "collection pack."
Here’s what’s included in this new edition available as of February 3, 2026, and why it left many players disappointed:
Ubisoft has gathered all content from the 2016 original game for those who love its unique atmosphere. Still, the lack of major technical upgrades has sparked debates on social media.
Base Game and All DLCs: The full expansion packs Underground, Survival, and Last Stand are included.
Seasonal Cosmetics: All previously released outfit sets and weapon skins are unlocked from day one.
4K and 60 FPS Support: On consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X), the game now runs in native 4K resolution with stable 60 FPS performance.
Faster Loading Times: Thanks to next-gen SSD tech, loading into the snowy streets of New York is much quicker.
Players expected a lot more from the "Definitive" label:
Same Graphics Engine: There are no major upgrades to textures or lighting (like Ray Tracing); only the resolution has been improved.
No Cross-Play: Despite launching in 2026, there’s still no cross-play support between PC and console players.
Lack of Anti-Cheat Updates: PC players were hoping for an improved anti-cheat system, but there’s no sign of upgrades in this edition.
Editor’s Note: If you already own the base game and its DLCs, this pack doesn’t offer new gameplay mechanics. But if you’re exploring snowy New York for the first time, this is the most convenient way to access all content in one place.
