Resident Evil Requiem: The Era of PS5 Pro and PSSR Begins!
It’s official: Resident Evil Requiem will be the first game to use Sony’s cutting-edge PSSR technology, developed for the "Pro" hardware and rivaling DLSS and FSR. This innovation aims to end the "Performance vs. Quality" dilemma for console gamers.
Technical Advantages of PSSR
| Feature | Advancement |
| Resolution | AI-powered upscaling transforms dynamic 1080p or 1440p sources into flawless 4K visuals. |
| Frame Rate | Enjoy a stable 60 FPS (or higher) experience, even with Ray Tracing enabled. |
| Detail Level | Eliminates aliasing issues on distant objects and complex textures like hair or fur. |
March Update: PSSR Support Expands!
PlayStation announced that starting March 2026, PSSR technology will also roll out to other first-party and select third-party titles. Here are the next games in line:
-
God of War Ragnarök: Sharper visuals in "Valhalla" mode with the PSSR update.
-
Horizon Forbidden West: Ultra-realistic presentation of foliage and machine details.
-
Ghost of Yotei: Next-gen depth in lighting and shadow effects.
Resident Evil Requiem Exclusive: "Pro Mode"
Capcom has added a special "Requiem Pro Mode" just for PS5 Pro owners. When this mode is enabled:
-
Enhanced Ray Tracing: Real-time reflections on pools of blood and wet surfaces.
-
Zero Loading Times: Instant room transitions thanks to PSSR-optimized data streaming.
With PSSR, you can now play at 60 FPS without sacrificing graphics especially in an atmospheric game like Resident Evil, this completely transforms the experience. From the leather texture on Leon’s jacket to the details on the zombies, everything now shines with crystal clarity.
