Rise of the Ronin is an open-world action RPG set in 19th-century Japan, crafted by Team Ninja, the studio behind Nioh and Ninja Gaiden. You step into the shoes of a nameless warrior shaping the fate of the country during the chaos sparked by the arrival of the Western "Black Ships." Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a first-person action-adventure where you rediscover your legacy as a Na'vi trained by the RDA, exploring the never-before-seen Western Frontier of Pandora after regaining your freedom.
Until now, Sony typically added just one title per month to the Classics collection, which drew criticism from Premium subscribers. With both Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy and Indigo Prophecy arriving together this month, Sony signals that it’s listening to feedback and may expand the Classics library faster in the coming months.
Alongside new additions, twelve games will be removed from the catalog on July 21: Risk of Rain 2, Tropico 6, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Röki, Source of Madness, Cursed to Golf, Hundred Days, Onee Chanbara Origin, Get Even, Bomber Crew, Space Crew: Legendary Edition, and Infinite Minigolf. Once a game leaves the catalog, access is fully revoked—even if you previously downloaded it, you won’t be able to play as Sony checks the license through its servers.
The Game Catalog is a large library available only to Extra and higher-tier subscribers; the Essential tier does not grant access. Unlike Monthly Games, which everyone (including Essential) can claim and keep forever, Game Catalog titles are playable only while your subscription is active and the game remains in the catalog.
If you want to upgrade to Extra or Premium, you can top up your account without sharing credit card details. Use a PlayStation Store gift card to start downloading Rise of the Ronin and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora instantly.
