Hyrule Relics: 40th Anniversary Special Toy Collection
Instead of a new game or a big remastered bundle, Nintendo has announced a "Classic Weapons" toy series that pays tribute to the roots of the franchise. This collection features high-quality toy versions of the most iconic weapons we've used since the original 1986 game.
What's in the Collection?
-
The Master Sword (Pixel Edition): Inspired by the 8-bit look from the original NES game, this Master Sword toy features sound effects and lights. When unsheathed, it plays the classic "Secret Discovery" sound.
-
Hylian Shield (Foam & Plastic): Lightweight yet highly detailed. The back straps are adjustable to fit heroes of all ages.
-
Classic Boomerang: Designed just like in the original 1986 game, this boomerang is soft to the touch but built to last. (We can't promise it'll come back!)
-
Ocarina of Time (Functional Toy): A mini instrument that plays legendary melodies like "Zelda's Lullaby" and "Epona's Song" when you press the buttons.
Pricing and Availability
Nintendo is keeping these products at a "for everyone" price point to win the hearts of fans:
| Product Name | Estimated Price | Material |
| 8-Bit Master Sword | $24.99 | Hard Plastic / LED |
| Classic Boomerang | $12.99 | Durable Foam |
| Hylian Shield Jr. | $19.99 | Lightweight Plastic |
| Collector's Set (Full Pack) | $49.99 | Special 40th Anniversary Box |
What Else Happened on the 40th Anniversary?
While there wasn't a big game announcement, Nintendo quietly made some small gestures:
-
Nintendo Switch Online: Special 40th anniversary icons have been added to the NES, SNES, and Game Boy library.
-
My Nintendo Rewards: A limited edition "The Legend of Zelda" poster set is now available for platinum points.
