Rockstar is premiering the Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look showcase on Netflix on August 27, then releasing it on YouTube six hours later.
Rockstar Games is set to deliver its biggest showcase since the record-breaking first trailer in 2023. Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look premieres today, August 27, with an unusual release strategy—debuting first on Netflix, then opening up to everyone.
The presentation will be available exclusively on Netflix on August 27 at 3 PM ET / 12 PM PT (10 PM Turkish time). This marks Rockstar’s first-ever collaboration with Netflix, and the content will remain exclusive to Netflix subscribers for six hours. After this window, on the same day at 9 PM ET / 6 PM PT (August 28, 4 AM Turkish time), the showcase will be available for free on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel and the GTA VI website.
| Platform | Time (ET) | Time (Turkey) |
|---|---|---|
| Netflix (exclusive to subscribers) | August 27, 3 PM | August 27, 10 PM |
| YouTube / Rockstar website (free) | August 27, 9 PM | August 28, 4 AM |
Open the Netflix app on your smart TV, console, or mobile device, or log in via web browser. The showcase will be highlighted on the homepage banner, or you can simply search for "GTA 6" using the search bar. Netflix will offer the presentation with multi-language subtitles and localized voiceovers for select regions.
If you don’t have a Netflix subscription, don’t worry—the content will be fully available for free on YouTube six hours later, in stunning 4K 60 FPS quality.
Rockstar hasn’t revealed exact details about the showcase, but Netflix’s official statement reads: "Watch the premiere of an extended look at 'Grand Theft Auto VI,' the next evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series." Netflix has confirmed that all footage was captured in-game on PlayStation 5. Fans can expect new scenes featuring vehicle action, gunfights, open-world exploration, and character interactions. Unlike previous trailers, this will be Rockstar’s first in-depth gameplay reveal on their own terms.
The timing is no coincidence. In the past week, fake GTA 6 gameplay clips and alleged leaks have been circulating online. With this Netflix showcase, Rockstar aims to present the game officially and on their own terms. Brandon Riegg, Vice President of Netflix Non-Fiction and Live-Action Shows, stated: "Grand Theft Auto announcements have become cultural moments in their own right," and highlighted the "unprecedented" level of anticipation for GTA 6.
No. If you don’t have a Netflix subscription, you can watch it for free on Rockstar’s YouTube channel six hours later.
Rockstar hasn’t confirmed the duration, but sources expect an in-depth gameplay showcase of around 30 minutes.
The game launches on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
