The long-awaited Forza Horizon 6 has finally been revealed! Playground Games officially announced that the next chapter in the Forza Horizon series will be set in Japan—a location fans have been hoping for. Scheduled for release in 2026, the game will be available on both Xbox and Windows PC. Plus, Xbox Game Pass members can play from day one.
The new trailer, released ahead of Tokyo Game Show, highlights Tokyo’s busy city streets, stunning rural scenery, and the legendary Mount Fuji. The announcement is clear: “The Horizon Festival is coming to Japan.”
Don Arceta, art director at Playground Games, shared that players will explore a variety of environments—from crowded urban areas to tranquil countryside. The popular seasonal cycles are back, letting racers experience all four seasons across Japan’s open world.
Microsoft also confirmed a PlayStation 5 version will launch after the initial release, bringing Forza Horizon to an even wider audience. Forza Horizon 5, which took place in Mexico, was a hit and quickly climbed the PS5 charts.
Forza Horizon 6 promises to refresh the series with Japan’s unique car culture and roads. With a strong focus on drifting and diverse tracks, the game is set to attract even more racing fans. While the trailer keeps some details under wraps, Xbox executive Matt Booty confirmed that Japan has been the top-requested location among fans.
