Activision has officially announced the multiplayer beta dates for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. The beta will take place over two separate weekends in August, about two months before the game's release on October 23.

Nintendo Switch 2 owners cannot join the first weekend, as pre-orders for Switch 2 begin on August 26, after the early access period ends. Switch 2 players can jump right into the open beta.
Call of Duty Next Event
The beta kicks off right after the Call of Duty Next live stream on August 21. The event will showcase live gameplay, in-depth multiplayer details, developer insights and fresh announcements ahead of the beta. Activision hasn't fully revealed which weapons, Operators, maps and modes will be available in the beta yet, but it's confirmed the game will launch with 19 weapons.
What You Can Experience in the Beta
Players will be able to customize their loadouts with the new Gunny loadout system. Expect both small-scale 3v3 matches and large-scale battles featuring vehicles like tanks in multiplayer. The classic Search & Destroy mode is also making a return. Those who pre-order the Vault Edition will get access to exclusive Operators, signature weapon blueprints and special voice packs during the beta.
What's Different This Year
Unlike previous years, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will not receive special early access privileges; early access is only available to those who pre-order the game. Additionally, an "online multiplayer subscription" may be required for the beta, meaning you'll need an active PS Plus, Xbox Live/Game Pass or Nintendo Switch Online membership depending on your platform.
