On September 8, Ubisoft officially launched a brand new free experience from the Assassin's Creed Mirage universe: Discovery Tour App: AlUla. This app offers a fully educational, interactive journey focused on the AlUla region, featured in the game's Valley of Memory expansion.

What is AlUla?

AlUla is a real-life region in Saudi Arabia, introduced as a discoverable area in the Valley of Memory expansion, which was added to Assassin's Creed Mirage for free in November 2025. The expansion brought over six hours of new content to Basim's story, with a fresh chapter centered around AlUla. Now, Ubisoft returns to this region from a completely new perspective, offering an experience outside the main game.

What does the app offer?

The Discovery Tour App: AlUla delivers an interactive experience packed with mini-games inspired by Assassin's Creed Mirage gameplay. According to Ubisoft, the app is a "gamified, mission-based journey" that takes about 90 minutes to complete. As you play, you’ll learn about AlUla's history; the Access Codex section features encyclopedic entries and real archaeological photos (some with 3D augmented reality support) about the region’s heritage. The Enter Chronology section presents a timeline stretching back to AlUla’s prehistoric era.

Part of the Discovery Tour series

AlUla is the latest addition to the Discovery Tour series, which began with Assassin's Creed Origins in 2018. Previous editions explored Ancient Greece (Odyssey), the Viking Age (Valhalla), and Medieval Baghdad (Mirage). Since Medieval Baghdad, Discovery Tours have been released as standalone free mobile apps rather than as part of the main game, which explains why AlUla is available as a separate app.
