IO Interactive’s James Bond adventure lands on PS5 with a one-hour trial. Who can play, what’s included, and does your progress carry over? Find all the details here.
007 First Light is now available for a free trial on PS5, but there’s a catch: only PlayStation Plus Premium members can access it, and the trial covers just the first hour of the game.
The young James Bond adventure from IO Interactive has been added to the Game Trial section of PS Plus Premium. PlayStation officially announced it, too. The duration is 60 minutes, short but enough to get a feel for the game.
The trial starts from the very beginning. According to Push Square, here’s what you get to play:
Good news: if you decide to buy the full game later, your progress carries over. You’ll pick up right where you left off.
No. Some sources suggested the trial was open to all PS Plus users, but that’s not true. Only Premium members have access to Game Trials, Essential and Extra subscribers won’t see this offer.

007 First Light launched on May 27, 2026, for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. Developed by IO Interactive, the studio behind Hitman, the game stars Patrick Gibson as Bond and explores his early years before earning his 00 status.
Critics love it, too. The PS5 version holds a strong 87 score on Metacritic, and sales have soared past 4 million copies as of August 20. The Switch 2 version has been delayed twice and is now expected to release on March 18, 2027.
Honestly, an hour is a solid demo length for a game like this. It’s enough to experience the disguise and stealth mechanics and see if it’s your style.
The trial launched during the same week as the PlayStation Store Black Friday sale. 007 First Light Deluxe Edition is featured on the first wave of deals running from November 4 to November 30. So if you enjoy the trial, you can grab the game at a discounted price.
Discount rates may vary by region. Since some deals end early on November 20, always check the product page for the exact end date.
If you’re ready to buy the game after the trial, you don’t need to enter your card details. If you’re using a Turkish account, a PlayStation Store gift card (TRY) is all you need. For accounts in other regions, check out the PlayStation Store gift card options. Be sure to select the correct region for your account when purchasing.
The trial lasts 60 minutes and covers the opening chapter and part of the tutorial mission.
Yes. If you purchase the game, your progress from the trial is saved.
Only PlayStation Plus Premium. Essential and Extra members do not have access.
The current release date for the Switch 2 version is March 18, 2027.
