The Xbox Game Pass library for September 2026 is taking shape, and the latest addition is coming from an unexpected direction. In its latest Producer Letter, Sega confirmed that Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage will join the service on September 10.
Why Virtua Fighter Is a Surprise
Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is a refreshed version of the classic fighting game series. Its arrival on Game Pass brings a prestigious name to the platform’s roster of traditional fighting games. Other than Mortal Kombat 1, which was added in December 2025, most fighting titles in the service have focused on lighter, more casual experiences like Brawlhalla and Nickelodeon All-Stars Brawl 2. Virtua Fighter’s inclusion is a fresh option for players seeking a serious arcade fighting experience.
Another highlight: the game is also expected to launch for Xbox PC on the same day. This usually signals Play Anywhere support, meaning you’ll be able to carry your save data seamlessly between Xbox, PC, and select handhelds.
Complete List of September Game Pass Titles So Far
Alongside Virtua Fighter, several new games have been announced for the month. Here’s the confirmed list so far:
| Game | Date | Note |

| Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage | September 10 | Launching with Xbox PC version |
| Well Dweller | September 22 | Launch day, dark fairy tale metroidvania |
| SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed | September (date TBA) | Delayed from July |
| Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault | September (date TBA) | Console debut, moving from Early Access to 1.0 |
| Dune: Awakening | Late September | Major release |
| Minecraft Dungeons 2 | Late September | Major release |
The Two Biggest Titles of the Month
The most anticipated additions of the month are being saved for the end: Dune: Awakening and Minecraft Dungeons 2 are already generating major excitement. Meanwhile, Well Dweller stands out with its unique visual style, letting you control a tiny bird armed with a matchstick. It will launch simultaneously on PC, Switch, PS5, and Xbox.
September Bounces Back After a Quiet August
August was relatively calm for most Ultimate subscribers, with the main highlight being Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. With eight games already confirmed for September and more announcements expected, this month promises a much stronger library compared to August.
