Wolverine and Spider-Man 2: Set in the Same Universe?

Gaming News

İlk teaser'da "1048" ibaresinin yer alması, bu iki oyunun aynı dünyada olabileceği spekülasyonlarına neden oldu. Ancak resmi bir açıklama yapılmadı.

Wolverine and Spider-Man 2: Set in the Same Universe?

Ever since Insomniac announced that it has begun development on a Wolverine game for PlayStation, fans have been wondering if this new game is set in the same universe as Spider-Man 2. The first teaser featured the phrase "1048", leading to speculation that the two games could be set in the same world. However, no official announcement has been made.

Wolverine and Spider-Man: In the Same Universe?

In an interview with Kinda Funny, Spider-Man 2 director Bryan Intihar answered this burning question. Here is Intihar's explanation:

They're all in the 1048 universe. As far as I can tell, that's the case.

Spider-Man 2 was previously confirmed to take place in the 1048th universe in "Across the Spider-verse". This suggests that Wolverine may be connected to Spider-Man's story. So far, however, there are no concrete references or surprise eggs in the games that confirm this connection.

Will There Be More Clues in the Same Universe?

In IGN's interview with Intihar, they were asked if they would be exploring this connection more in Wolverine. Intihar's response was as follows:

"We wouldn't be real Marvel fans if we didn't speculate like this, but I think our job is more like, 'These games are really complex and challenging. For now, the Wolverine team should focus on their own work. Let's let them do their thing, and maybe in the future, if that becomes a possibility, then that would be great."

"But for now, we shouldn't back anyone into a corner. They should have an open field to make the Wolverine game the best it can be. That's the best approach to make a great game."

In fact, there's even a reference to Wolverine in Spider-Man 2. Marvel's Wolverine was announced in 2021 with a short teaser trailer, revealing that it will be a "cutting-edge game" and feature an "emotional story". However, the release date is still uncertain.
