Farewell to Warzone Mobile as the game failed to make its mark on mobile platforms.
The end of an era in the gaming world! Activision has officially announced that the servers for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will be permanently shut down on 17 April 2026.
This decision comes after the game failed to meet expectations due to optimisation issues and its inability to deliver the same success as the PC/Console versions on mobile devices. Here’s everything you need to know about this farewell:
After being removed from stores and put into "maintenance mode" in May 2025, the end is now official. Activision has set April as the final month for players to say goodbye.
Official Shutdown Date: 17 April 2026. After this date, server access will be completely terminated.
Account Status: Guest accounts and all data on them will be permanently deleted. However, players using an Activision Account can continue using their progress and inventory (for items supporting cross-progression) in other series titles like PC/Console Warzone and main CoD games.
Payments and Refunds: In-game purchases were already stopped in May 2025. Unused CP (CoD Points) will not be refunded as cash; it’s recommended to spend any remaining points in-game before 17 April.
According to Activision’s official statement, the game “did not meet the expectations of mobile-first players”.
Technical Challenges: High system requirements and overheating issues, especially on Android devices, pushed a large portion of players away.
Competition Pressure: Its sibling, Call of Duty: Mobile, offered a more stable experience and a wider content range, overshadowing Warzone Mobile.
Shift in Focus: Activision chose to allocate resources to the more profitable Call of Duty: Mobile updates and the main Warzone platform.
