September 10 Will Be a Massive Day for Borderlands Fans

Story Pack 2, new Vault Hunter Loveless, Bounty Pack 5, a free level cap increase, and more all dropping in one epic day.

September 10 Will Be a Massive Day for Borderlands Fans

September 10 is shaping up to be the biggest content drop since the launch of Borderlands 4. Gearbox and 2K are rolling out a new playable Vault Hunter, a paid story DLC, a themed Bounty Pack, a free level cap increase for everyone, and a complete overhaul of the DLC sales structure all on the same day.

New Vault Hunter: Loveless the Hacker

Loveless the Hacker joins as the second post-launch playable Vault Hunter. Once an Anshin hacker turned assassin, Loveless arrives with a cybernetic arsenal and a digital worm-like virus that shares her mind. The character has been known since a datamine in April 2026, with the first detailed gameplay reveal shown during the Gearbox DevCast on September 3.

Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort

The second story pack follows March's Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned DLC, bringing back fan-favorite Vault Hunter FL4K. The Beastmaster is up against Tediore to rescue his stolen skag companion, Bay. This content does not include Loveless; she is a separate purchase.

Pricing Breakdown

Content Price
Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort 19.99 USD
Loveless the Hacker (standalone) 9.99 USD
Story Pack 2 Bundle (story + Loveless) 24.99 USD
Bounty Pack 5: Amara and the Vile Shadows 9.99 USD

Super Deluxe Edition owners get all paid content automatically. Deluxe Edition owners receive only the Bounty Packs. If you own the base game and want everything, the total cost will be around 35 to 40 dollars depending on your bundle choices.

Free Content for Everyone

Players without any DLC won't be left out. The free 1.10 update raises the level cap to 70 and adds new Pearlescent weapons along with Legendary gear for all players. Gearbox previously increased the level cap to 60 in March 2026 with the C4SH update, and now raising it to 70 is the next logical step. The studio has confirmed this will be the final level cap increase, so fans shouldn't expect another one in the future.

DLC Sales Structure Gets an Overhaul

Starting September 10, older DLC packs will be available for individual purchase. For example, you can now buy Story Pack 1 separately without needing to purchase everything, or just pick up specific story maps. This change gives new and returning players more flexibility in choosing what content they want to buy.

This Marks the End of the Roadmap

According to Gearbox, this massive update also signals the end of the current post-launch roadmap. September 10 is both a major content milestone and a symbolic close to Borderlands 4's first year. Meanwhile, the game has kept a high profile throughout 2026 with extras like the Borderlands Dead ECHOs audio drama released in July and Lilith joining Fortnite as a playable skin.
