A technical revolution is on the horizon in the gaming world! The strategic partnership between Capcom and Sony is turning Resident Evil Requiem into a showcase of PS5 Pro's true power, going far beyond just a horror game.
Sony's new AI-powered upscaling technology, PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution), makes its debut with this release. Check out all the details, curated in a product card inspired by Umbrella's lab white and the electric blue of digital tech:
Resident Evil Requiem: The Era of PS5 Pro and PSSR Begins!
It's official: Resident Evil Requiem will be the first game to use Sony's PSSR technology, developed for the "Pro" hardware and set to rival DLSS and FSR. This breakthrough aims to end the "Performance vs. Quality" dilemma for console gamers.
Technical Advantages of PSSR
| Feature | Enhancement Details |
| Resolution | AI-powered upscaling transforms dynamic 1080p/1440p visuals into flawless 4K. |
| Frame Rate | Stable 60 FPS (or higher) even with Ray Tracing enabled. |
| Level of Detail | Eliminates aliasing issues on distant objects and complex textures like hair or fur. |
March Update: PSSR Support Expands!
PlayStation announced that by March 2026, PSSR technology will also roll out to other first-party and select third-party titles. Here are the next in line:
-
God of War Ragnarök: Sharper visuals in "Valhalla" mode with the PSSR update.
-
Horizon Forbidden West: Ultra-realistic greenery and machine details.
-
Ghost of Yotei: Next-gen depth in light and shadow effects.
Resident Evil Requiem Exclusive: "Pro Mode"
Capcom has added a special "Requiem Pro Mode" exclusively for PS5 Pro owners. When this mode is activated:
-
Advanced Ray Tracing: Real-time reflections on blood pools and wet surfaces.
-
Zero Loading Times: Instant transitions between areas thanks to PSSR-optimized data streaming.
With PSSR, you can now enjoy a steady 60 FPS without sacrificing graphics, which is game-changing for atmospheric titles like Resident Evil. From the leather texture on Leon’s jacket to the smallest details on zombies, everything will now be rendered in crystal-clear quality.
