Capcom is permanently lowering the price of Monster Hunter Wilds and replacing current bundles with the new Gold Edition.
Capcom has announced that the base price of Monster Hunter Wilds will be permanently reduced starting August 4, 2026. On the same date, all current bundle options will be completely revamped.
As of August 3, 5:00 PM PDT (August 4, 01:00 UTC), the Deluxe Edition, Premium Deluxe Edition, and standalone Cosmetic DLC Pass will be discontinued. At the same time, three new bundles will launch: the Gold Edition, which includes the base game and all cosmetic content; the Cosmetic DLC Collection, which features only cosmetic content (excluding the base game); and the Extras Cosmetic DLC Pack, which brings together select premium cosmetic items previously sold separately. Players who purchased any of the old bundles before the change will retain access to all their content.
Capcom hasn't revealed the exact global discount yet, but the figure announced for Japan gives us an idea: the standard edition will drop from 8,990 yen to 4,990 yen, a reduction of about 45 percent. In the US, the current price is $69.99; if a similar discount is applied, the new price is expected to be around $40. This move mirrors Capcom's previous strategy with Monster Hunter World, where the base game dropped from $60 to $20 when the Iceborne expansion was released.
Since its launch in February 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds has had a bumpy ride, recovering from initial negative reviews to more average ratings. However, performance issues, especially on PC, have remained a hot topic. This price and bundle update is seen as preparation for the major upcoming expansion, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, set for 2027, which will take players to skyward ruins and a showdown with Elder Dragon Kushala Daora.
The game is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). Capcom has also confirmed that a Nintendo Switch 2 version is in development, which is exciting news for fans who have been waiting since the game skipped the original Switch at launch.
No, all bundles and content purchased before the change will remain in your account, even if those bundles are discontinued.
Capcom has not yet announced specific prices for each region. The 45 percent discount in Japan may serve as a reference for other regions.
Capcom has only stated "2027" for now, with no exact date provided yet.
