The biggest news of the event was the official release date for the "Chaos Cubed" update, set to make waves in the second half of 2026. This content pack, designed to expand the mining and exploration ecosystem, will launch simultaneously for both Java and Bedrock editions on June 16, 2026.

Highlights from the update’s new features and gameplay mechanics:

• Sulfur Caves Biome: A brand-new underground area with a warm color palette. Sulfur pools in these caves release gases that inflict the "Nausea" effect on players and nearby mobs.

• New Decorative Blocks: Yellow Sulfur and red Cinnabar stones can now be mined and crafted into a full set of building elements like bricks, walls, and stairs.

• The Sulfur Cube Mob: This new creature dynamically changes its physical properties, weight, and behavior depending on the type of block it touches or consumes. Players can even capture and transport it using an empty bucket.

• Official Friends List for Java Edition: The long-awaited social feature finally arrives, allowing Java Edition players to enjoy an integrated Friends List.

2. Minecraft Dungeons 2 and the New Threat: "Twisted Warden"

New concept art was shared for Minecraft Dungeons 2, the sequel to the popular dungeon crawler spin-off. One of the most dangerous bosses revealed was the "Twisted Warden," a mutated and even more terrifying version of the original Warden.

3. On the Big Screen: "A Minecraft Movie Squared" and Alex’s Role

The first official details of the movie sequel were announced, including its title: A Minecraft Movie Squared.

• Cast and New Character: Jack Black (Steve), Jason Momoa (Garrett), and Danielle Brooks (Dawn) will all return. The biggest surprise is that Kirsten Dunst will play the iconic character Alex.
