Honeycomb Aeronautical introduces the Echo Aviation Controller XPC, designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator and coming to Xbox.
Honeycomb Aeronautical, known for its professional flight simulation hardware, has unveiled the Echo Aviation Controller XPC a brand new gamepad designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator fans, now officially coming to Xbox for the first time.
At first glance, the Echo Aviation Controller XPC looks like a standard console controller, but it’s packed with the essential controls of a real cockpit. It features a precise analog stick for pitch and roll, four individually assignable throttle levers for different engine setups, a continuously adjustable trim wheel, and opposing rudder paddles that eliminate the need for pedals. There are also dedicated physical buttons for landing gear, flaps, and parking brake, so you can skip menu navigation or memorizing complex button combos.
The analog stick uses Tunnel Magnetoresistance (TMR) sensors, while the rudder controls use Hall Effect sensors. Both rely on magnetic detection, delivering greater precision and durability compared to traditional contact-based mechanisms meaning stick drift is largely minimized over time.
The Echo Aviation Controller originally launched for PC at the end of last year and quickly became popular among flight sim enthusiasts. Honeycomb’s technical director Marc Küpper stated that the original controller brought PC gamers from the desk to the couch, and now with the XPC model, they want to offer the same experience to Xbox players. The company also noted that this is their first step into consoles, but definitely not the last.
Not at the moment. The announcement only covers Xbox Series X|S and PC. While many PS5 players have requested a version in the comments of the launch video, Honeycomb hasn’t made any statements about it yet.
The official price and release date haven’t been announced yet. The company expects shipping to begin in fall 2026. The original PC-only Echo Aviation Controller was priced around $149.99, so the XPC model is expected to be in a similar range.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is available in the Xbox Game Pass library. If you want to be ready for launch with the new controller, you can top up your account without sharing your credit card details. Get your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate gift card and prepare for the fall release.
It’s primarily designed for this game, but you can also use it with other flight simulation titles that require flight controls.
Yes, the XPC model works with both Xbox and PC, offering flexibility for players who switch between platforms.
Unlike large setups that require separate yoke, pedals, and throttle, the Echo Aviation Controller XPC combines all these controls into a single, compact device perfect for comfortable couch gaming.
