Everything You Need to Know About Fable and Forza Horizon 6!

At the Xbox Developer Direct on 22 January 2026, Playground Games finally unveiled the much-anticipated gameplay trailers and release dates for their two blockbuster projects: Fable and Forza Horizon 6.

The biggest highlight for both games is the official confirmation of a PlayStation 5 version, alongside Xbox and PC. Here are the latest updates from the worlds of Albion and the skies of Japan:

Fable (Reboot)

Playground Games is blending Fable’s signature British humour with a modern action-RPG formula.

  • Release Date: Fall 2026 (simultaneously launching for Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PS5).

  • Story Intro: You’ll start the game as a child. After your village (and your grandmother) are mysteriously turned to stone, your journey to become Albion’s “first hero of the new generation” begins.

  • Open World & NPCs: Albion is now a seamless open world. Thanks to the new “Living Population” system, over 1,000 unique NPCs have their own daily routines, personalities, and shifting opinions about you.

  • Morality System: Instead of classic black-and-white (good-evil) choices, the new reputation system is more grey and subjective. Gaining wealth might make some people happy, but turn others against you.

  • Gameplay: The combat system is fluid, reminiscent of The Witcher 3. Instantly switch between sword, bow, and magic. Life simulation elements like buying houses, getting married, and farming make a full comeback.

Forza Horizon 6

The dream fans have waited years for is finally coming true: This time, the Festival heads to Japan!

  • Release Date: 19 May 2026 (for Xbox and PC). The PS5 version will arrive in late 2026.

  • Map: The largest and most vertical map in the series. Tokyo City is described as the most complex and densely packed driving space ever in a Forza game. From drifting on mountain touge roads to neon-lit Tokyo streets, expect massive variety.

  • Car List: Over 550 cars at launch. Cover stars include the 2025 Toyota GR GT Prototype and 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser.

  • New Features:

    • Car Meets: Special social hubs on the map where you can meet other players and show off your cars.

    • The Estate: A mode where you can build and customise your own garage and property permanently in the open world.

    • Tyre Wear: Your driving style will visually and technically affect tyre wear.
