The Cyberpunk 2077 2.5 update brings a surprise that isn't mentioned in the patch notes: a sword and outfit set inspired by The Witcher 3. These items are free, and it only takes a few minutes to claim them.

What are the hidden Witcher items?

The set found by players includes five pieces, each referencing Geralt's world:

• Sihil: An iconic sword, a nod to the dwarven blades from Witcher.
• Boar Carver: A knife resembling the one Geralt uses to harvest monster loot.
• Ursine Jacket and Ursine Pants: Inspired by the Bear School armor from The Witcher 3.
• The Professor's Spectacles: The glasses you could get at the auction in Hearts of Stone.

Players on X were the first to spot these items. CD Projekt Red hasn't made a separate announcement about them.

How do you get the items?

The process is quick, but there's one thing you need to watch out for.

1. Update your game to version 2.5.
2. After a while, a new character named Ariadne will message you, saying she has new outfits for V.
3. Do not choose the "SEND TO SPAM" option in the conversation. If you do, you won't get the items.
4. Accept the offer, then skip time forward by 24 hours from the menu.
5. Ariadne will notify you that she left a package. Head to V's apartment in Megabuilding H10 in Watson.
6. Open the box to the left of the door and collect your items.

If you want, you can finish the side quest: wear the outfits, take a photo in Photo Mode, and send it to Ariadne. She'll reward you with 4,300 Eddies. Even if you start a new game, you can get the items right away.

Note: Some players using mods have reported that the items don't appear. If you have issues, try disabling your mods and check again.

What else is new in the 2.5 update?

The update launched on October 22 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The Switch 2 version is coming soon. CD Projekt Red calls this the Edgerunners 2 update, since it coincides with the release of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime season two.

• Dual wielding: use two weapons at once
• Expanded cyberware customization
• New content and side quests from Edgerunners 2
• Cross-platform mod support
• New settings for improved gameplay experience

We think it's a great move not to mention the Witcher items in the patch notes. Surprises like these bring even veteran players back into the game.
