Where Winds Meet Mobile Launch: Must-Know Cross-Progression & Controls!

With just days left until the mobile launch of Where Winds Meet (December 12), Everstone Studio and NetEase Games have answered the community’s most pressing questions through their official channels. Key details about cross-progression for PC/Console account holders and mobile-specific control settings have been finalized.

Here are the essential updates every mobile and existing PC/Console player should know:

Section I: Cross-Progression & Account Management (CRITICAL NOTICE)

Question Answer
Is Cross-Progression Available from Mobile to PC? ABSOLUTELY YES. Where Winds Meet Mobile supports full cross-progression (character data, progress, and purchases) and cross-play. All platforms can play together.
What Should Existing PC/Console Account Holders Do? VERY IMPORTANT: Travelers who already have a character on PC/Console must log in with their existing account before creating a new character on mobile.
What Is the Account Linking Issue? If you already have character data on both your mobile and PC accounts, you CANNOT LINK them. That's why you must first log in on mobile using your existing PC account.

Section II: Mobile Experience & Control Differences

While the developers aim to bring the PC experience to mobile, some optimizations and differences are necessary due to portability:

1. Difficulty Settings & Learning Curve

  • Restriction for New Mobile Characters: Players who create a new character on mobile can only select Story or Recommended difficulty at first.

  • When Is Expert Difficulty Unlocked? After learning the basics and reaching Level 30 (Lv. 30), the Expert difficulty will become available on mobile.

  • Legend Difficulty: For those who want to experience the highest difficulty, "Legend," it's recommended to create your character on PC first. Characters created on PC in Legend difficulty will retain this status when logging in on mobile.

2. Controls & User Interface (UI)

  • Assist Deflection: To help new mobile players adapt to combat mechanics faster, "Assist Deflection" will be enabled by default. You can disable this feature from the settings menu.

  • Button Layout Limitation: Mobile skill button layouts are currently not customizable. Advanced control options and custom layouts will be added in a future update.

3. Performance & Optimization

  • Changes in Cutscenes: To ensure stable performance on mobile, some real-time rendered cutscenes have been temporarily replaced with video playback. This may result in additional cellular data usage. Developers have stated that optimization work is ongoing.
