Table of Contents
It's a big week for PlayStation fans. Sony has officially confirmed not one, but two back-to-back State of Play streams set for September 3.
Both Streams on the Same Day
The first stream is billed as featuring "updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners," and will wrap up with an in-depth look at Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Revelation. As soon as the main show ends, a second stream called State of Play Japan will kick off, hosted again by Yuki Kaji. This special presentation will focus on games from Japan and Asia-based studios, offering exclusive insights.
| Stream | Time (ET) | Time (Turkey) |
|---|---|---|
| Main State of Play | September 3, 09:00 | September 3, 16:00 |
| State of Play Japan | Immediately after | Immediately after |
Where to Watch
Both streams will be available on PlayStation's official YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok channels. The main stream will be in English with Japanese subtitles, while State of Play Japan will be in Japanese with English subtitles, making both accessible for an international audience.
What to Expect
Sony has yet to reveal the full list of games besides Final Fantasy VII Revelation, leaving plenty of room for surprise announcements, new trailers, release dates, and gameplay showcases. The runtime has not been disclosed either. The last general State of Play aired in June and ran over an hour, featuring deep dives into Marvel's Wolverine and God of War Laufey. With God of War Laufey set for a February 2027 release, fans are hoping for fresh updates this month.
The previous State of Play Japan in November 2025 showcased titles like Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls and Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows. This month's stream is expected to set the stage for the upcoming Tokyo Game Show in the weeks ahead.
