Sony has officially revealed the PlayStation Plus Essential lineup for September. Alongside Sniper Elite: Resistance, Chained Echoes, and Wobbly Life, MLB The Show 26 joins as a surprise fourth title.
Sony has officially announced the PlayStation Plus Essential lineup for September. While the leaked list from a day earlier was mostly accurate, Sony surprised everyone by adding a fourth game that wasn't mentioned in the leaks.
Starting September 1, all PS Plus members (including Essential) can download these four games for free:
| Game | Platform | Genre |
|---|---|---|
| Sniper Elite: Resistance | PS5, PS4 | Third-person tactical shooter |
| MLB The Show 26 | PS5 | Baseball simulation |
| Chained Echoes | PS4 | 16-bit style JRPG |
| Wobbly Life | PS5, PS4 | Open world physics sandbox |
These games will be available from September 1 and can be claimed until October 6, giving players a slightly longer window than usual.
The only game not included in the leaks is MLB The Show 26, the latest entry in the series. Released in March, it's promoted as "the most immersive MLB The Show yet." In Road to the Show mode, you can start your player's career in high school, advance through the new college phase with 11 added teams, and work your way up to the major leagues. The Diamond Dynasty mode introduces the new Red Diamond player tier, letting you build your dream team, while new gameplay systems like Bear Down Pitching and Big Zone Hitting arrive alongside hundreds of new field animations. With your PS Plus membership, you also get access to the Jump Start Bundle.
Sniper Elite: Resistance delivers a story set in occupied France during the same timeline as Sniper Elite 5, focusing on long-range sniping, stealth, and tactical combat. Chained Echoes is a 2022 JRPG with 30-40 hours of story, featuring a group of heroes trying to end a conflict between three kingdoms in a world where giant mechs battle dragons. Wobbly Life is an exploration-driven physics sandbox that combines job creation, customization, and multiplayer chaos.
If you haven't claimed August's games yet, act fast. Dying Light 2: Stay Human, Big Walk, and Signalis will leave the catalog on August 31. This trio made August one of the strongest months, especially with Big Walk scoring 93 on Metacritic as one of the highest-rated PS Plus free games of the year.
The games will be added on September 1, 2026, and can be claimed until October 6, 2026.
The game is available for free on all PlayStation Plus memberships, including the Essential tier.
You have until August 31, 2026, to claim Dying Light 2: Stay Human, Big Walk, and Signalis.
