Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 4 (v1.040) Released: Gogmazios Arrives!

Capcom has launched Title Update 4 (Version 1.040), the fourth major content update for Monster Hunter Wilds. This patch, which the developers say includes "over 100 core improvements," brings new monsters, essential gameplay changes, and crucial performance optimizations especially for PC players!
I. New Monsters and Quests
TU4 introduces some of the toughest challenges yet, adding two legendary monsters to the game:

Gogmazios Added: Gogmazios is now available for players who reach Hunter Rank (HR) 100+. To unlock this monster, players must complete an extra quest.

Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad: Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad has been added and will be accessible through a future Event Quest.

New Tempered Monsters: Additional 9★ tempered monsters like Doshaguma will be available as event quests.

New Extra Quests: New extra quests such as "An Ancient Resting Place" and "Ghosts Pay No Heed to Tomorrow" are now available, unlocked via story progression.
II. Performance and Gameplay Quality Improvements
Capcom emphasized that this update focuses heavily on technical performance.

CPU/GPU Optimization: CPU and GPU optimizations have been implemented across all hardware, improving frame pacing, collision detection, and the number of simultaneous effects.

100+ Improvements: Over 100 performance improvements have been made, affecting players, monsters, Seikret, Palicos, and the GUI.

Quest Timer: Minimum quest duration has been increased for quests with two or more objectives, leading to longer overall quest times.

New Support Hunters: After completing the main quest "A Hunter's Pride," new Support Hunters can join quests: Griffin (Great Sword), Nightmist (Light Bowgun), and Nadia (limited-time seasonal event character).
III. Weapon Balancing and Skill Changes
Nearly every weapon in hunters' arsenals has received significant damage boosts and quality-of-life (QoL) adjustments:

| Sword & Shield | Forward Slash base damage increased. Perfect Guard transitions to normal Guard more quickly. |
| Great Sword | Base and elemental scaling for Charged Slash, Strong Charged Slash, and True Charged Slash increased. |
| Dual Blades | Demon Boost Mode now remains active even when sheathed. Sharpness consumption reduced. |
| Lance | Base damage for High, Mid, and Triple Thrust increased. Faster transitions from Perfect Guard to other actions. |
| Charge Blade | Reduced "hit stops" during multi-hits in Power Axe Mode. Savage Axe Slash base damage increased. |
| Bow | Thousand Dragons base and elemental scaling increased. Faster coating application. |
IV. Hub and Events

Festival of Accord: The new Festival of Accord event will run from December 19, 2025, to January 14, 2026. During this period, Handler costumes, Hub decorations, and the Canteen menu will be temporarily updated.

Artian Weapons: Upgrade and enhancement options for Gogma Artian Weapons have been added to the Smithy.

Armor Upgrades: The Smithy now offers "Transcendent" armor upgrades.
