NetEase has unveiled a new gameplay video showcasing Spider-Man in Marvel Rivals. The video highlights Spider-Man's abilities and various costumes that will be available in the game. In the gameplay footage, Spider-Man is seen wall-running and pulling enemies towards him with his webs. One of his most distinctive abilities is a wide-area attack reminiscent of Overwatch 2’s Reaper's "Death Blossom," where he traps and defeats enemies within a certain radius.
A Classic Spider-Man Story
The storyline of the game will stay true to the classic Spider-Man narrative. After being bitten by a radioactive spider, Peter Parker gains spider-like abilities and, as always, embraces the mantra, “With great power comes great responsibility,” as he strives to protect his city. Known for his witty remarks, Peter Parker will face a new crisis called "Timestream Entanglement," which will draw both his greatest allies and enemies into the plot.

If you want to be among the first to experience Marvel Rivals and are a console gamer, you can apply for the closed beta by filling out a form for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. For Steam players, simply wait until July 20, 2024. On that date, a button will appear on the Steam page allowing you to apply for the closed beta.
