Gran Turismo 7’s free Spec IV update brings back the legendary Autumn Ring track for the first time since Gran Turismo 6. Discover all the new tracks, cars, and modes coming soon.
Even though Gran Turismo 7 is now four years old, Polyphony Digital shows no signs of slowing down support for the game. Announced as part of the build-up to the series’ 30th anniversary in 2027, the Spec IV update finally brings back a fan-favorite track that players have been requesting for years: Autumn Ring.
Autumn Ring first appeared in the original Gran Turismo and remained a staple of the series up until Gran Turismo 6. Since then, it has been missing from every Gran Turismo title for nearly 13 years. Polyphony Digital President Kazunori Yamauchi expressed his excitement: "I’m thrilled to bring this track back to Gran Turismo 7 and let millions of players experience it again as part of the December update." Autumn Ring will return with its classic layout as well as a newly expanded configuration designed for higher speeds.
Spec IV will roll out in two separate releases across October and December. The first part, coming in October, features Sportsland SUGO—a 3.7-kilometer Japanese circuit known for its elevation changes and technical corners. Although it has hosted series like Super GT and Super Formula, this marks the very first time Sportsland SUGO appears in a Gran Turismo game. Autumn Ring will be available to players in the second part of the update in December.
| Part | Date | New Track |
|---|---|---|
| Spec IV - Part 1 | October 2026 | Sportsland SUGO |
| Spec IV - Part 2 | December 2026 | Autumn Ring |
The update will introduce a total of 12 new cars, split evenly between the two releases. Polyphony has yet to reveal the full list. Alongside the new vehicles, players can look forward to the return of Shuffle Racing mode, online drift races, a brand-new Family Mode, and Concierge—a new feature that makes ordering cars easier than ever.
Full details on what’s included in the October and December updates will be shared during the Gran Turismo World Series Round 3 event in Singapore on October 3. Yamauchi concluded his statement by thanking players for joining them on this journey.
