Silent Hill 2 and Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be removed from the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog on Tuesday, October 20. Along with these two titles, a total of eight games will be leaving the service, so if you haven’t finished any of them, your time is running out.

Two Major Titles Saying Goodbye

Silent Hill 2 is the 2024 remake by Bloober Team, revamping Konami’s 2001 classic with modern graphics. As a story-driven horror game, it can be completed in 15 to 20 hours, so you still have time to finish it over a weekend.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon marks RGG Studio’s shift to turn-based RPG gameplay. Starting with Ichiban Kasuga’s story, this entry is considered one of the series’ most beloved. The downside? It’s a long journey. Even the main storyline takes several days to complete, so if you’re just starting, you might not finish before it’s gone.

All Games Leaving on October 20

For region-specific titles, check the Last Chance to Play section on your console to see if they’re leaving your library.

What Happens When a Game Is Removed?

Unlike the monthly games from Essential, titles from the Extra and Premium catalogs don’t stay in your library. Once they’re removed, you can no longer play them. Still, not everything is lost:

• Your save files and trophies remain on your account.
• If you purchase the game later, you can continue right where you left off.
• If the game returns to the catalog, you can pick up from your previous save.

What’s Coming Next?

Sony’s October catalog will go live the same day. Mafia: The Old Country, Horizon Forbidden West, and Mycopunk are headlining the new Extra lineup. While there may not be a direct horror or long-form RPG replacement, Horizon Forbidden West offers hours of adventure.

If You Want to Own the Game Forever

If you don’t want to leave Silent Hill 2 or Yakuza: Like a Dragon unfinished, the easiest way is to buy the game from the PlayStation Store. Your save will be preserved, so you can pick up right where you left off. To do this, simply top up your US PlayStation account with a PlayStation Store gift card. Check lotkeys for the latest prices.
