The Halloween event in Red Dead Online kicked off on October 6 and runs until November 2. Most of the rewards are earned through in-game activities, so this isn’t a “download the game for free” announcement.

What’s Free in the Event?

The “free downloads” mentioned in the title refer to new cosmetic rewards added to Red Dead Online. There’s no announcement from Rockstar about giving away Red Dead Redemption 2 for free. To claim these rewards, you need to own the game and access its Online mode.

• The Red Fernwater Coat, Irontooth Mask, and various emotes can be unlocked by completing specific activities.
• Players who reach wave 10 in the All Hallows’ Call to Arms mode earn a Gold Bar and an extra emote.
• Halloween Pass 2 is back, featuring themed outfits.
• A community-designed outfit is available to all players this month.

Bonuses and Discounts

There’s also free access and extra discounts on select items like fast travel, sedative ammo, and tomahawks. Each week features rotating rewards for different activities, so it’s worth checking in regularly throughout the event.

Important Note

We’ve verified the event summary with community sources like RockstarINTEL. Since we couldn’t access the full Rockstar Newswire October 2026 page, it’s best to cross-check all reward and bonus details with the official announcement before publishing specifics.
