DevGAMM Awards 2026 Nominees Revealed: 70 Indie Games Compete for $140K

The nominees for DevGAMM Awards 2026 have been announced. Seventy indie games from twenty-five countries will compete for over $140,000 in prizes at the ceremony in Lisbon on November 18.

What's new this year?

This is the third year of the awards, and interest has hit an all-time high. A total of 1,088 entries were submitted by 987 teams from eighty countries. Last year, that number was 652.

A jury of 191 members from forty countries evaluated the games over three rounds. More than half of the nominees were created by teams of five or fewer, making this a true indie showcase.

Ceremony details: When and where to watch?

  • Date: November 18, 2026
  • Time: 7:00 PM CET
  • Location: DevGAMM Lisbon, Portugal
  • Stream: IGN.com and IGN's YouTube channel

The event isn't just about the awards. Organizers also promise new game reveals and updates.

Prize pool

The total prize pool exceeds $140,000. Scorewarrior is providing $100,000, while the rest comes from special categories sponsored by Epic Games Store, Unreal Engine, tinyBuild, Unity, and Godot.

Category Prize
Grand Prize $20,000
Game design, visual art, narrative, audio, best mobile game $10,000 (each)
Epic Games Store Indie Spotlight $15,000
Unreal Engine & Godot categories $10,000 (each)

Standout nominees

Some games appear in multiple categories. Dead As Disco leads with the most nominations, competing in Grand Prize, audio, Epic, and Unreal categories for a total of four. Amanita Design, the studio behind Machinarium, is also a strong contender with their new game Phonopolis nominated in three categories. MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is up for both the Grand Prize and visual art. We expect the top award to go to one of these three, but surprises are always possible.
