Embark Studios has listened to the intense feedback from players during the first "Expedition" (account reset) and made radical changes for the second Arc Raiders reset window. Challenging requirements like the "5 million Coin" reward threshold and "dark pattern" mechanics that encouraged hoarding valuable items instead of using them have been completely overhauled.

Here are the details of the new system announced on February 5, 2026 and launching on February 25:

Arc Raiders: Second Expedition and the Reward Revolution

Developers acknowledged that players were right in saying "we can't enjoy the game because we're just hoarding coins," so they've lowered the requirements and introduced a "catch-up" system for those who fell behind.

Major Reduction in Reward Requirements

In the first Expedition, each Skill Point required 1 million Coins. Now, that's been significantly reduced:

• New Target: The total stash value needed for the maximum 5 Skill Points has been lowered to 3 million Coins.

• Cost Per Point: Now, you only need 600,000 Coins per point instead of 1 million.

Catch-Up Mechanism

For players who missed the first Expedition or couldn't collect all points, a discounted compensation system is now available:

• Cheaper Skill Points: If you missed points in the first round, you can now reclaim them for just 300,000 Coins per point.

• Total Point Potential: With this system, players joining the second Expedition can reach up to 85 skill points in total including catch-up points.

Second Expedition Rewards and Buffs

Joining the Expedition offers not just points, but also several permanent and temporary perks:

• Permanent Stash Space: Stash capacity increases from 12 to 24.

• Cosmetics: The "Patchwork" outfit evolves with new color options and add-ons, and the new "Scrappy" outfit is also being introduced.

• Stacking Buffs: Players who join Expeditions consecutively will now get a 10% XP bonus, a 12% Scrappy material bonus, and a 70% increase in repair value.
