IO Interactive released the free Extended Operations update for 007 First Light on October 1. The highlight is the brand-new mission called Valhalla Protocol, putting Bond behind the wheel of a weaponized Aston Martin Valhalla.

Valhalla Protocol: Bond's Ultimate Driving Test

Set in Slovakia, this new TacSim mission challenges players to manage high-speed combat while racing against the clock. You'll need to master the armed Aston Martin Valhalla, neutralizing threats along the route as you race to the finish. This rare driving-focused approach is a fresh twist for the series and makes the update's name truly fitting.

The second new mission, Jungle Heist, takes place at Vietnam's Pearl Hotel and offers a stealth experience with procedural elements. Both missions add great variety for players looking to test different playstyles.

New Game Plus and 00 Difficulty

The update introduces a New Game Plus mode, unlocked after you complete the campaign once. You can replay with previously unlocked outfits and swap gadgets during missions (though gadgets still require story progression to unlock).

With New Game Plus comes the 00 difficulty, which significantly ramps up enemy AI. A new mechanic also lets enemies push Bond off ledges during close combat, making the action even more intense and dangerous.

Photo Mode and More

Extended Operations adds a robust photo mode with adjustable camera angles, filters, visual effects, and a variety of poses. The update also brings two new weapons (Storm 12 Gauge, Squire Marksman Rifle) and three new outfits (Observant Spy, Leisure Beam, First Class) unlocked by default. Weapon handling animations are now smoother, with more fluid reloads and weapon switches.

Over 700 bug fixes are included in this update. The PC Game Pass version also receives fixes for achievement locks and startup crashes caused by pipeline cache issues.

Release Date and Platforms

Extended Operations launched simultaneously on October 1, 2026, at 14:00 CEST (12:00 UTC) for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox app/Game Pass). The Nintendo Switch 2 version arrives in March 2027, with an exact update date to be announced.

Players who link their IOI account to the game by November 1 will receive the limited-time Grey Standard outfit, so don't miss out.
