This Month’s Highlight: Gears of War: E-Day
Developed by The Coalition, Gears of War: E-Day joins Game Pass on October 6 as a day-one release and is set to be the biggest Xbox exclusive of 2026. Set 14 years before the original Gears of War, this origin story follows Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago as they witness the Locust Army’s first emergence on the surface.
Other Day-One Releases
Minecraft Dungeons II launches on September 29 as a day-one title for Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. Kernel Hearts joins the list on September 17, blending roguelike elements with an optional co-op mode. Players can choose between four unique magical characters as they climb the Tower of Babel.

Dune: Awakening Arrives on Console
A major highlight of this wave is the console debut of Dune: Awakening, the survival RPG set on the desert planet Arrakis. Following its PC release, it will be available to Game Pass Premium, Ultimate, and PC Game Pass subscribers starting September 22, marking a big moment for console players who have been waiting for this title.
Mind the Tier Differences
Most games on the list have already been available to Ultimate and PC Game Pass members. The big change in this wave is that many titles are now coming to the more affordable Game Pass Premium tier. However, day-one releases like Kernel Hearts and Gears of War: E-Day remain exclusive to Ultimate and PC Game Pass and will not be available to Premium subscribers.
Leaving the Catalog on September 30
While new games are joining, eight titles will be removed from the Game Pass library on September 30, including Sifu, Atomfall, and Little Nightmares II Enhanced Edition. If you plan to finish any of these, make sure to do so before the end of the month.
