Warzone Mobile is bidding farewell after falling short of expectations on mobile platforms.
The end of an era in gaming is here! Activision has officially announced that the servers for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will be permanently shut down on 17 April 2026.
This decision was made because the game failed to meet expectations, mainly due to optimisation issues and not being able to replicate the PC/Console success on mobile devices. Here’s everything you need to know about this farewell:
After being removed from stores and put into "maintenance mode" in May 2025, the end is now official. Activision has marked April as the final goodbye for the remaining players.
Official Shutdown Date: 17 April 2026.After this date, all server access will be terminated.
Account Status: Guest accounts and all associated data will be permanently deleted. However, if you use an Activision Account, your progress and inventory (for cross-progression supported content) can still be used in other series titles (PC/Console Warzone and mainline CoD games).
Purchases and Refunds: In-game purchases were discontinued in May 2025. Unused CP (CoD Points) will not be refunded in cash, so it’s recommended to spend your points in-game before 17 April.
According to Activision’s official statement, the game "did not meet the expectations of mobile-first players".
Technical Challenges: High system requirements and overheating issues, especially on Android devices, drove away a large portion of the player base.
Competition Pressure: Its own sibling, Call of Duty: Mobile, offered a much more stable experience and broader content, overshadowing Warzone Mobile.
Shift in Focus: Activision has chosen to shift resources to more profitable Call of Duty: Mobile updates and the main Warzone platform.
