A technical revolution is on the horizon for the gaming world. The strategic partnership between Capcom and Sony transforms Resident Evil Requiem from a classic horror game into a true showcase for PS5 Pro's cutting-edge technology.
Sony's brand-new AI-powered upscaling technology, PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution), makes its debut with this title. Check out the product card I created, inspired by Umbrella's iconic white and the electric blue hues of digital innovation:
Resident Evil Requiem: The PS5 Pro and PSSR Era Begins!
It's official: Resident Evil Requiem will be the first game to utilize Sony's "Pro" hardware and the new PSSR technology, a true rival to DLSS and FSR. This leap aims to end the eternal debate of "Performance or Quality" for console gamers.
Technical Advantages of PSSR
| Feature | Improvement |
| Resolution | AI-powered dynamic upscaling transforms 1080p or 1440p visuals into flawless 4K. |
| Frame Rate | Enjoy a stable 60 FPS (or higher) experience, even with Ray Tracing enabled. |
| Detail Level | Eliminates "aliasing" issues in distant objects and complex textures like hair and fur. |
March Update: PSSR Support Expands!
PlayStation has announced that PSSR technology will roll out to other first-party and select third-party games starting March 2026. Here are the next titles in line:
-
God of War Ragnarök: Sharper visuals in "Valhalla" mode with the PSSR update.
-
Horizon Forbidden West: Ultra-realistic foliage and machine details.
-
Ghost of Yotei: Next-gen depth in light and shadow effects.
Resident Evil Requiem Exclusive: "Pro Mode"
Capcom has added a special "Requiem Pro Mode" just for PS5 Pro owners. When activated:
-
Advanced Ray Tracing: Real-time reflections on blood pools and wet surfaces.
-
Zero Loading Times: Seamless transitions between rooms thanks to PSSR-optimized data streaming.
Thanks to PSSR, you can now enjoy 60 FPS gameplay without sacrificing graphics quality a total game changer for atmospheric titles like Resident Evil. From the leather texture on Leon’s jacket to the intricate details on zombies, everything is now rendered in "crystal-clear" quality.
