Sony has announced the first game joining the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalog for August, and it’s a big one: Helldivers 2.

Helldivers 2 Joins the Catalog

Developer Arrowhead revealed that the popular co-op action game, where players bring Managed Democracy to other planets, is available in the PS Plus Game Catalog starting August 12. The timing is no coincidence; the Helldivers 2 community is aiming to eliminate 500 million enemies by August 18 to unlock four exclusive Helldiver-themed PlayStation avatars. If you’re new, now is the perfect time to jump in.

On the same day, a new expansion for the game launched: Devoid of Liberty. In this content, players descend into the haunted depths of the Void, destroy Illuminate towers and portals, encounter new enemies, and earn fresh ranks along the way.

The Rest of the August Catalog

So far, Sony has only confirmed Helldivers 2. Typically, new games are added to the catalog every few days throughout the month, and the list of classic games exclusive to PlayStation Plus Premium has yet to be revealed. We’ll update this article as more titles are announced.
