Capcom has rolled out Title Update 4 (Version 1.040), the fourth major content update for Monster Hunter Wilds. The development team highlights that this patch brings over 100 core improvements, introducing new monsters, major gameplay tweaks and crucial performance optimisations especially for PC players!

I. New Monsters and Quests

TU4 brings some of the toughest challenges yet, adding two legendary monsters to the hunt:

• Gogmazios Added: Gogmazios is now available for hunters who reach Hunter Rank (HR) 100+. To unlock this monster, players must complete an additional quest.

• Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad: Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad joins the roster, accessible through an upcoming Event Quest.

• New Tempered Monsters: Additional 9★ tempered monsters like Doshaguma will be available as event quests.

• New Extra Quests: New extra quests such as "An Ancient Resting Place" and "Ghosts Pay No Heed to Tomorrow" unlock as you progress through the story.

II. Performance and Gameplay Quality Improvements

Capcom emphasises that the main focus of this update is technical performance.

• CPU/GPU Optimisation: Optimisations applied across all hardware, enhancing frame pacing, collision detection and simultaneous effect count.

• 100+ Improvements: Over 100 performance upgrades implemented for players, monsters, Seikret, Palicos and the GUI.

• Quest Duration: Minimum duration for quests with two or more objectives has been increased, generally extending quest times.

• New Support Hunters: After completing the main quest "A Hunter's Pride," new Support Hunters Griffin (Great Sword), Nightmist (Light Bowgun) and Nadia (limited-time seasonal event character) can now join your hunts.

III. Weapon Balancing and Skill Changes

Nearly every weapon in the hunter's arsenal has received significant damage buffs and quality of life (QoL) adjustments:

• Festival of Accord: A brand-new Festival of Accord event will run from 19 December 2025 to 14 January 2026. During this period, the Handler's outfit, Hub decorations and Canteen menu will be temporarily updated.

• Artian Weapons: Upgrade and enhancement options for Gogma Artian Weapons have been added to the Smithy.

• Armor Upgrades: Smithy now offers "Transcendent" armor upgrades.
