The highly anticipated next chapter in the Forza Horizon series is here! Playground Games has officially revealed that Forza Horizon 6 will be set in Japan, a location fans have long hoped for. Launching in 2026, the game will be available on both Xbox and Windows PC, with Xbox Game Pass members getting day-one access.
Unveiled ahead of the Tokyo Game Show, the trailer highlights Tokyo’s vibrant city streets, scenic countryside, and the iconic Mount Fuji. The big announcement: “The Horizon Festival is coming to Japan.”
Art Director Don Arceta from Playground Games shared that players will explore a variety of environments, from packed urban areas to tranquil rural roads. The fan-favourite seasonal system is back, letting players experience all four of Japan’s seasons in an expansive open world.
Microsoft has also confirmed a PlayStation 5 version following the initial launch, bringing the series to even more players. Forza Horizon 5, set in Mexico, was a huge hit and also made its way to PS5, quickly climbing the charts.
Forza Horizon 6 promises to inject fresh excitement into the franchise with Japan’s unique car culture and diverse roads. Expect a heavy focus on drifting and varied track layouts—sure to thrill racing enthusiasts. While the trailer keeps some secrets, Xbox executive Matt Booty confirmed that Japan has been one of the most requested locations by fans worldwide.
