Discover the Baby Wyvern pet, camp pond system, new tool slot, and PC ray tracing upgrades in Crimson Desert's latest update.
The massive 1.08.00 update for the open-world action-adventure game Crimson Desert is now live on all platforms. This update brings a wealth of new features that enrich the gameplay experience, including buildable ponds for camps, a pet wyvern system, new equipment slots, and visual enhancements.
Here are the standout highlights from the latest patch notes:
According to the official patch notes, the main features and gameplay changes added to the game are as follows:
| New Feature | Mechanics and Details | Status |
| Baby Wyverns & Pets | Around 20 new small animal species and the "Baby Wyvern" can now be registered as pets. | Active (May evolve into mounts in future updates) |
| Camp Pond System | Buildable ponds in the Howling Hill and Pailune Camp areas where you can breed and observe fish. | Active (Requires completion of the pond quest) |
| Dedicated Tool Slot | A new inventory slot for gathering tools like axes, pickaxes, and shovels, separate from secondary weapons. | Active (Integrated into the quick menu) |
| Enhanced Graphics (PC) | Raytraced Sun/Moon Light Shadows added to graphics settings. | Active (For RTX-supported cards) |
In addition to around 20 new small animal species, the most exciting addition is the Baby Wyvern. Players can now keep this adorable creature as a pet. Future updates are expected to allow these baby wyverns to grow into permanent flying mounts. With this patch, you can also ride adult wild wyverns as temporary mounts after defeating them in the wild.
Players who complete the relevant construction quest in the "Howling Hill" and "Pailune Camp" areas can build their own ponds. You can release fish from your inventory into these ponds, manage them, and breed new fish.
Legendary Fish Protection: Rare "legendary fish" can no longer be accidentally sold, consumed, or discarded. They will remain as permanent collectibles in your pond, unaffected by pond capacity or fish lifespan.
New Weapons for Kliff: The main character Kliff can now equip and use muskets and shotguns in combat.
Tool Slot Convenience: Previously, tools like the Lumber Axe, Pickaxe, Shovel, Sickle, and Chainsaw occupied the secondary weapon slot. Now, they have a dedicated "Tool Slot," so you no longer have to constantly swap weapons while gathering resources.
