Blood of Dawnwalker's first major patch is live. The 13 GB update brings skill reset, item buyback, a new difficulty mode, and a host of fixes.

Blood of Dawnwalker 1.1 Patch Released: Skill Reset Arrives, Hundreds of Bugs Fixed

The 1.1 update for Blood of Dawnwalker was released on October 22. The patch, which is about 13 GB on PS5, introduces skill reset, buyback from vendors, and hundreds of bug fixes.

Update Highlights

Rebel Wolves' game launched on September 3. This is the first major patch since release. The update rolled out simultaneously for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The download size on PS5 is 12.88 GB. Official sizes for PC and Xbox have not been shared. The patch notes are extensive. Some sources report over 1,100 fixes.

New Features

  • Draught of Mind Rebirth: You can now drop Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism skills and choose a different set. In short, you can finally change your build.
  • Buyback: Items accidentally sold to vendors can now be repurchased.
  • New Difficulty: The old Story difficulty is now called Forgiving. The new Story mode offers combat assistance.
  • Subtitle Settings: Font size can be increased and subtitles can be enabled for all dialogues.
  • Petting Animals: Yes, you can now pet animals.
  • Controller: Deadzone settings have been added.

The most important addition is the skill reset, making it much easier for players who want to try different builds.

Balance and Combat Changes

There are noticeable changes on the combat side:

  • Enemy targeting and lock-on work more reliably.
  • Shadowstep and Planeshift targeting have been fixed.
  • Camera and combat animations have been improved.
  • High-level boars and wolves now have less health.
  • Item upgrade costs have been rebalanced.
  • A cathedral guard can no longer one-shot Coen before level 30.

Several amusing bugs have also been addressed. Coen can no longer walk on water, and the infinite money exploit from beehives has been fixed.

Performance and Bug Fixes

FrameGen technology has been updated and now has its own settings menu. Many crash and FPS drop issues have been resolved. The biggest improvements are in quests. Stuck progress, character glitches, and missing objectives in main and side quests have been fixed.

Equipping the same item for both day and night sets is a small but nice touch. Quest notes on the official site are hidden with spoiler warnings. If you haven't finished the game yet, it's best not to check that section.

Known Issue

The patch comes with a single known issue. For users with AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT, enabling FrameGen while it's off may cause the game to crash. If you use this card, keep this in mind when adjusting the FrameGen setting.

If You Haven't Bought the Game Yet

Blood of Dawnwalker is available on Steam for PC, and on PS5 and Xbox for consoles. If you're buying on PC, you can top up your balance with a Steam Wallet Code. For PS5, use a PlayStation Store Gift Card to add funds.
