Where Winds Meet Mobile Launch: Must-Know Cross-Progression Rules and Controls!

With the mobile launch of Where Winds Meet just days away (December 12), Everstone Studio and NetEase Games have addressed the community’s most pressing questions through their official channels. Key details about cross-progression especially for PC/Console account holders and mobile-specific control adjustments have now been confirmed.

Here are the crucial details every mobile and existing PC/Console player needs to know:

Section I: Cross-Progression & Account Management (CRITICAL ALERT)

Question Answer
Is Cross-Progression Available from Mobile to PC? ABSOLUTELY YES. Where Winds Meet Mobile supports cross-progression (character data, progress, and purchases) and cross-play. All platforms can play together seamlessly.
What Should Existing PC/Console Account Holders Do? VERY IMPORTANT: If you’re a Traveler with a character on PC/Console, make sure to log in with your existing account on mobile before creating a new character.
What Happens if Accounts Aren’t Linked Properly? If you already have character data on both mobile and PC accounts, you CAN’T LINK them. Always log in with your PC account on mobile first.

Section II: Mobile Experience & Control Differences

While the developers aim to bring the PC experience to mobile, some optimizations and differences are necessary due to the nature of portable gaming:

1. Difficulty Settings & Learning Curve

  • Restriction for New Mobile Characters: Players creating a new character on mobile can initially only select Story or Recommended difficulty levels.

  • When Is Expert Difficulty Unlocked? After you learn the basics and reach Level 30 (Lv. 30), the Expert difficulty becomes available on mobile.

  • Legend Difficulty: If you want to experience the highest difficulty, “Legend,” it’s recommended to create your character first on PC. Characters created on PC at Legend difficulty will retain their status when logging in on mobile.

2. Controls & User Interface (UI)

  • Assist Deflection: To help new mobile players master combat mechanics faster, “Assist Deflection” is enabled by default. You can disable this feature in the settings menu.

  • Key Layout Limitation: For now, skill button layouts on mobile are not customizable. Custom key settings and advanced mobile control options will be added in a future update.

3. Performance & Optimization

  • Cinematic Changes: To ensure stable performance on mobile, some real-time rendered cutscenes have been temporarily replaced with video playback. This may result in additional cellular data usage. Developers have stated that optimization work is ongoing.
